Who can apply?
This award is for non-profit initiatives promoting biodiversity by taking action in the physical world. This means that your initiative puts ideas into practice, as opposed to just talking about them. Initiatives must have already started and achieved results.
How to apply?
When you want to nominate an initiative, please click on the “nominate an initiative” button. After you have nominated the project, I will invite them to apply for the award.
When you want to apply for the award, please click on the “apply for the award” button to start the application process. Application is open until May 31st 2022 11 pm CET (GMT+1).
3. social media shoutout: I will announce and promote your initiative on my social media channels, so that people from all around the world learn about it. My main channel is Twitter. 4. a trophy: you receive the hand-made folded book as you can see in the picture above
5. a digital certificate: you can share this certificate on, for example, your website and social media to communicate the appreciation your initiative has received.
Where does the money for this award come from?
Apart from my work as Global Changemaker in the field of sustainability, I’m doing freelance jobs in the field of cyber security. I have earned the money for this award in these jobs.
How will you transfer the money?
I prefer to use Paypal, but depending on where you live, there may be other options. If nothing else works, we can always use the freelancer platform Upwork.
What does the application process involve?
You will be asked whether you meet the requirements, several questions about the project, and contact details. For each question in the application process, it is indicated whether the question is optional or obligatory to fill in. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
Duration: The nomination process will only take 1-2 minutes. The application process will take a little longer, but as I respect your time, I have made it as short as possible. Depending on how fast you are, I expect 10-30 min.
What does the nomination process involve?
You will be asked a few questions about the initiative you are nominating, the contact details of the initiative's representative and your contact details. For each question in the application process, it is indicated whether the question is optional or obligatory to fill in. Incomplete nominations will not be considered.
Can I nominate more than one project?
Yes, you are allowed to nominate more than one project. However, for technical reasons, you will have to use a different email address each time. If you use the same email address, only the last nomination is saved.
What are the selection criteria?
I will assess each application based on several criteria, including impact, level of commitment, quality and sustainability of the initiative.
When will the award winner be announced?
My plan is to announce the winner in July 2022 at the latest.

How will the (personal) data of my nomination and application be processed?
When you apply, you give your consent for me to use your contact details to contact you. You also give your consent for me to publish the name, country and website of your initiative in case you win the award. Also, when you apply or nominate someone, you give me your consent to send you my newsletter.
If I don't win the award, can I ask why not?
No, due to my limited time, I won't answer questions about the decision.
If I don't win the award, can I apply again in the future?
Yes, you can apply again next time, as long as your project contributes to the current theme of the award.
