Here's a bold question for you:
What good is your research
if it goes unnoticed and doesn't have a positive impact on the world?
Introducing....
How to spread your research results to the broad general public and become more visible as expert in your field
There are 3 main planetary crises going on at the moment: climate change, loss of biodiversity, and environmental pollution.
Not enough people are taking the necessary steps to combat these issues because many don’t know how they can contribute to a healthier planet or they don’t see a need.
One of the reasons is that laymen are not able to understand scientific publications, so they are not able to extract actionable steps that they can put into practice in their daily lives.
Another reason is that there is a lot of misinformation, based on incorrect reasoning and lack of available information based on scientific research.
As a scientist with an educational background, I am very good at translating complex texts into an easy to understand article.
My articles are educational and I add multimedia to help readers to better understand.
What Scientists are Saying
"I can highly recommend Dr. Erlijn van Genuchten as fantastic science communicator. Having collaborated closely with her at Scientists Warning Europe for the past few months I can attest to her writing skills, scientific knowledge, and great personality. If you want to transform your scientific writing into digestible, human, and entertaining written content, don't hesitate to get in touch with Erlijn!"

"She did an excellent job of communicating these ideas, so thank you. I particularly liked how she has so succinctly and clearly articulated some of the practical implications of the ideas (e.g. through bullet points) and used imagery to engage the audience. She's helped me to think more about how to communicate key ideas from my research."

Why is this so important?
When everyday people are able to access scientific information that is easy to understand and fascinating, their connection with the topics increases drastically.
As a result, the understanding and sense of urgency of current issues such as climate change and other environmental concerns also increases.
We have the chance to increase awareness and affect social and environmental impacts. We can work together to protect nature and its beautiful creatures, so current and future generations will have the opportunity to enjoy this very special planet as much as we do now.
What Readers are Saying
"I read many of Erlijn's articles because she takes scientific papers that, in my experience, can be heavy for many and explain them simply, science for a layman. Then let them know what to do. Nice work."
Steven Power
"What an eye-opener. We hear stories about singular events where plastic harms marine life and the damage it can cause, but like all your articles, you provide amazing detail in an easy to read piece. and simple steps we can all take. Thank you for this! I always look forward to your articles."

About Me
I'm a passionate science communicator, helping scientists in the field of nature and sustainability increase the outreach of their results and the positive impact on the environment without having to put in any additional time and effort. I do this by converting publications into easy to understand articles for the general public and spreading these on social media. My work inspires the general public to take action towards a healthier planet, because it not only educates, it also fascinates, and includes actionable steps we can all do in daily life.
My journey in sustainability started in 2019 by doing a 365 Sustainable Decisions Challenge, making my own daily life more environmentally friendly. Today, I'm also a member of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe task force on digitalization in energy, a reviewer for the United Nations Environmental Programme, and a member of the advisory board of the International Forum for Nature and Sustainability. Before that, I worked as an IT-security expert, taught at a university, did a PhD in Psychology, an M.Sc. in Educational sciences, and a B.Sc. in IT. I also wrote two linguistic books. During all my roles, I specialize in making complex topics available to the general public (including on TV, in articles, books, presentations, podcasts, social media posts).

What Readers are Saying
"Dr. Erlijn, the beauty of this article is that it totally mesmerizes you when you talk about this intresting creature and it’s amazing functions. However, in the end you suddenly wake your readers up to do practical stuff in saving/preserving this creature and its environment. This is something we all can do and we all should do. Dr, thanks for this very informative and useful article."
Zafar Zadiq
"This is very helpful and urgent, thank you! What helps me is to realize that:
1. My own behavior adapted slower then the pace of my brain starting to understand climate change. It takes time to go from denying that action is needed, to actually act differently.
2. For most people, just understanding our climate is already very challenging (me included), so in every discussion, they deserve time and I must be patient."

Don't Wait! Act Now for a Healthier Planet
The need for action towards a healthier planet is urgent. Also, remember that I write articles based on work that is no more than two years old. This means that articles close to the two-year mark can quickly become outdated.
The earlier people take action from your research, the bigger the snowball effect will be.
And the cost of inaction is much greater than investing in this service!

The cost of my service depends on for example the length and complexity of your publication. The range is usually between €449 and €599. After applying, I will come back to you as soon as possible with my offer.
If you don't have a budget at the moment, here are some suggestions to solve this:
For future research, you can add a budget for science communication in your grant proposal.
Yes, when you have written or coauthored a scientific publication that is published in a peer-reviewed scientific journal, I can help as well.
I write about a broad range of topics, including sustainable agriculture, animals, biodiversity, climate change, CO2 reduction, deforestation, energy saving, environmental communication, environmental education, environmental psychology, foodwaste, health, materials, plastic, pollution, recycling, renewable energy, SDGs, soil, technology, waste reduction, and water.

If you're still unsure, feel free to apply. I'll then have a look at your work and decide whether the topic fits or not.
It normally takes less than 4 weeks for me to complete the article. If I expect it to be longer, I will let you know during our call. After I finish the article, I share the link to the draft article to give you the opportunity to suggest minor changes before I publish the article.
